Our story

Our story

A neighbourhood restaurant on Edlington Lane, cooking Bangladeshi and Indian food for South Yorkshire.

Home-style cooking

The heart of the NUR menu is Bangladeshi home cooking: Desi Handi simmered slowly in the traditional pot, Naga Tarkari made from a paste of fresh naga chillies, Shatkora with the dried citrus fruit of Sylhet, and Pangash Jhol – the fish curry that, as the menu says, is one of the favourite seafood dishes at home.

The classics, done properly

Alongside the signatures you will find every classic from a very mild korma to a very hot vindaloo, tandoori grills, biryanis and a full range of vegetarian dishes, breads and rice.

Quality and care

NUR uses the finest quality British-sourced ingredients and strives to cook every meal to the highest standard. If a meal is ever not up to your satisfaction, tell us and we will resolve it reasonably. Takeaways are packed in reusable containers – please reuse them at home.
